Aviator
Style 
Contrary to popular belief Aviators
pre-date World War II, first being made popular sometime in the
1930's. favorites among different branches of the military they
were originally wire framed, sporting a distinctive
double-bridge and characterised by large, dark drop-shaped
lenses.
Today's aviators have updated their looks. Now
available in literally every colour imaginable, aviators
can come rimless, mirrored, plastic frames or have oversized
looks. The classic style Aviators have also stood the test of
time however With their thin frame and wire arms. Luckily this
style looks great on almost anyone.
For those of you old enough may remember Aviators were also
popular during the 80’s, having gained popularity when actors (
top-Gun anyone?) and other celebrities have started using them.
And so again in 2009 the Aviator Sunglasses are among the most
popular type of eye wear, always classic and stylish and able
to impart the wearer with a cool retro look. Again used by the
celebrities and fashionista of today.........looks like this
style has a few more years left in it
yet.
Wayfarer
Style
Originally
designed in 1952, the Wayfarer
style was the first plastic sunglass in production!. Since then
they have proved immensely popular and a triumph of design.
Though the sunglasses did faded from the limelight slightly in
the 1970s, product placement in some mega movies (Tom cruise
again in Risky Business) of the 80's brought them back in to
the public's consciousness and they were loved once
more.
Widely Considered as 'the' classic pair of
shades, Wayfarers have be updated now coming in a variety
of new colors, two-tone and checker board designs and are
still recognisable all around the world as a statement of
style and cool.
